Confessions

Kaidan Alenko was annoyed that nothing was working. His omni-tool, his computer, even his own head wasn't working. He had a migraine and he was exhausted from all the extra work he had.

"I'll grab some dinner, see Dr. Chakwas for some more pain meds, and then hopefully get some much welcomed sleep,"  he thought.

He slowly made his way over to the mess, he grabbed himself some food, he was then suddenly "attacked" by four small hands and questions, by Commander Shepard, and Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams. He was then dragged to a table in the back. Kaidan was shoved into a chair and Shepard and Ashley ran and sat across from him. Ash put her chin in her hand and grinned at him, while Noah was staring at him intently, obviously searching for something.

"Can I help you ladies...?" he questioned, but Ash held up a finger and shushed him.

"Oh.My.God," Noah whispered, "You were right!" she squealed like a teenager.

"See I told you, you should listen to me more often skipper," Ash sighed with content, slowly shaking her head.

Kaidan look suspiciously at the two women across from him. "Okay can someone please explain to me what is going on here?" Kaidan queried getting annoyed with the games. Ash and Shepard exchanged looks and Shepard sighed.

"Alright so this morning I went to go talk to Ash and she was listening to mail, her sister said she saw us on one of the recent news vids, and she commented on you being very, um, good-looking. I asked Ash of there were any intentions there and she said no, and that you were already sweet on someone else, and I said there was no way, cause you're a duty-man first, but I was wrong so we are here to interrogate you Mr. Alenko."

Oh shit, he thought. Kaidan had been in love with his commanding officer the first time he laid eyes on her. She was kind, funny, tough as nails but a softie at heart, and beautiful. Her smile was amazing and her sapphire eyes and...A loud squeal and a gasp caught his attention. He looked up. Ash had a giant grin on her face, and Shepard's petite hand covered her mouth.

"Were you thinkin' about her LT?" Ash inquired. She was still smiling and her brown eyes sparkled with questions.

"Yeah actually, I was," the words escaped his mouth faster than he could take 'em back. Alenko what the hell are you doing? Shut up already!

"I wanna meet this girl Alenko! Tell us about her," Shepard begged.

Kaidan chuckled and looked at her food,"Well she's got these eyes the color of sapphires that sparkle whenever I see her. And her hair is the color of the night sky back on Earth. She's got this laugh that's just like music and she's strong and stubborn as anything. She can be scary as hell when you piss her off, but she's really a softie,"

"Awe Kaidan's gotta crush, Kaidan's gotta crush," Ash sang poking Kaidan in the side.

"Shut up," he laughed.

"Do we know her?" Noah asked scooting next to him. He turned his head and found her face inches from his. She looked away, her cheeks turning red.

"Yeah she's stationed on the Normandy actually," he stopped mid-sentence closing his mouth. Oh my god, what the hell am I doing?
Ash's jaw dropped to the table, "And you never told us because..."

"Told us what?" Joker limped over to the table. He set his tray on the table and Ash got up to help him.

"That the girl Kaidan is totally in love with is stationed on the Normandy," Shepard said taking a bite of her food.

"Oh I know that," Joker bragged, "I even know who she is," Ash whipped her her head toward Joker and he stuck his tongue out at her. He then turned toward Kaidan. Kaidan shook his head furiously, but stopped when Shepard looked at him. He gave her a sheepish smile.

"And? Who is she?" Ash said tapping her fingers on the table.

"I'm not telling you not with so many people around!" Joker snorted

"Fine," Ash looked over at Kaidan,"Tell me," she demanded.

"Hey! I wanna know too," Shepard whined. She and Ash giggled, it was the funniest thing he had ever heard.

"No! I'm not telling you guys- er girls," the heat was rising was in his cheeks.

"Come on LT! You know you can trust," Ash stopped. "us,"

Kaidan was watching Shepard eat. She was so beautiful, her smile was just amazing. He looked up to see Ash staring at him and Noah. Her head was cocked to one side and she gasped quietly.

"I know who," she whispered. She nodded her head toward Shepard, and he nodded, his eyes pleaded not to say anything, and she nodded her head.

Ash smiled and winked at him, and then she turned to look at Joker. He watched them and he saw the smallest of sparks flick between them. I guess I'm not the only one he thought. Noah looked up from her tray, slowly chewing her food. She looked over at Kaidan.

"Did I miss something?" she asked pointing her fork at Ash and Joker. They smiled at each other shaking their heads.

"No not really," he laughed. He got up from the table and waved bye to Shepard, "I should go, I'll catch you guys later. He turned around and walked away.

Noah turned to watch Kaidan as he walked away. She tried not to stare at him, but she couldn't help it. Damn it, she was doing it again.
